ORDOS – The new skate destination you need to know about

Personally, I've never wanted to buy a plane ticket to Asia until discovering this city created for skateboarding; Ordos, a seemingly deserted  Mongolian city. Designed for millions of souls, this city is a real jewel of modern architecture and every corner looks like a skatepark.

This destination came up when I spoke with the team (Ripper) to make a trip this January to start a new film project. While Barcelona and California are not too far, I wanted more something more exotic.

Traveling last minute, I considered the option of going in 2 weeks. The dream, however, is quickly extinguished when Expedia gave me their best price of $7,000 (round trip, at least!) ... We'll have to put it on the to do list and procrastinate!

From the Vimeo Page:

Built for 1 million people and currently inhabited by just a few thousand.

It’s been called the Dubai of northern China, showered with wealth, packed with public infrastructure and located near to precious natural resources in a region plagued by water-supply troubles.

Ordos is a ghost town located in Inner Mongolia. Seeing the potential of this city in terms of spots we decided to organize a skate trip and be the first ones to skate such a surreal place.
