Oakley has been involved with the Osheaga festival since the very beginning. As familiar is it is to see them around here though, it's important to remember that the company's root lie in California. And with a deep connection to the music scene there, Oakley makes sure it reflects in much of their activity.
As I mentioned, Oakley and Osheaga's relationship is long-standing. Last year they even released a special edition model of their famous Frogskins with the name of the event engraved in the lens. They were extremely well received and, not surprisingly, Oakley wanted to do it again this year, stepped up a notch!
The Oakley Canada office is in fact right here in Montreal - St. Laurent to be exact - which no doubts facilitates these kind of awesome relationships with events in the Montreal region!
This year, to step it up a notch, they opted for a special edition of the Garage Rock model of sunnies which are inspired by the world of music and the surrounding lifestyle. A fresh model that's been super popular, they're the perfect fit for Osheaga! If you look close enough, you'll even see the outline of the infamous Gibson guitar.
The lenses are engraved again this year, but this time so are the arms - complete with Oshe and Aga, the festival mascots on one side.
With these being a special release just for the artists who are performing at the festival this weekend, there is an extremely limited number available to the public. There are only 100 pairs available on-site this weekend at a price of $175. Hurry up, they're sure to go super quick!
