On Tuesday night, it was Whistler's turn to be the host of BA JOHNSTON on his latest canadian tour and MOE JOE'S club was the place to be. To start up the night, our well known local country act MARBLE CANYON (they play every thursday night at the brasserie des artistes in whistler, go check them out) played a good mix up of original songs and really cool covers sent the crowd into an even better mood to get the party going. After a solid perfomance of the opening act, the audience was on fire and screaming out loud  and moshing pretty hard, thanks to DJ Wes for the heavy metal music between the sets. Once in a sudden, the music cuts and what i believe it was a backstreet boys song that started to play, a big gingered bearded man enterred the scene threw the back of the crowd with some sparklers and jumps on stage and setup is act. I've never seen him live before and my researches described him to be a lot like GG ALLIN, without the violence and  other unhealthy habits that GG used to do for is show, it got me more excited then ever to see BA JOHNSTON's act.

The man brought two keyboard, an acoustic guitar, a discman, lots of stage props and i believe three sweaters that says "dickhead" on it. The first few songs were on the guitar and then the man got up and press play on the discman and the beast unleashed. He danced for a while dressed like a pirate, went around in the crowd helping people drinking their beer faster or taking it to give himself a beer shower and even went all the way to stand on the bar which is pretty far away from the stage too. The man sweats charisma and has developed a great relationship with his fans. With songs like "I've got a deep fryer in my bedrooom", "I have no skills so i'm going to work in Fort McMurray" and "McDonalds coupon day", he definitely got some laughter going.

After jumping back and forth from the guitar, different outfits and running around with songs from is discman, he called out everybody to follow him to the ladies washroom to watch him play is last song. I can tell you that there was about 30 to 40 people, mostly guys, packed in that little area. What a great way to finished the show, everybody had a huge smile on their faces and the party kept on going until the bouncers said so. I would like to thanks to David Brocklebanks at the DOPE INDUSTRIES and MOE JOE'S for setting up the show.

Psssttt ! Envoie-ça à ton ami!
