As a downhill skateboarder, I've always been intrigued by downhill biking. When I came to Whistler, I had a chance to learn more about this amazing sport. I'm going to share with you the craziest parts of Whistler Crankworx 2014. A gathering of the bike-minded, Crankworx brings together the world’s downhill, slopestyle and enduro legends, with the Superfans, the rising stars, the industry’s innovators and the next generation of mountain bike riders for ten days of contests, concerts, culture and cranking. The Redbull Joyride
The many worlds of mountain biking will collide in the largest and most anticipated freeride competition of the year. Fusing elements of slopestyle, dirt jump and classic downhill biking, Red Bull Joyride will anchor the final weekend of the Crankworx Whistler festival, with one gravity-fed, season-defining freeride competition on August 16 in Whistler, BC. Twenty of the world’s best riders, including Whistler-native and defending champion Brandon Semenuk, will be officially invited to battle it out for a chunk of the $50,000 prize purse.

Red Bull Joyride is part of the “Red Bull Signature Series” on NBC, which features the most progressive and innovative snowboarding, mountain biking, freestyle motocross, ice cross downhill, skiing, and BMX events.
