Take Your Park Skills to the Next Level With Oakley Progression Sessions

Let's not sugar coat things: it hasn’t been the best year weather-wise for Whistler Blackcomb.

I think I had more days to date on my pass when I was a weekend warrior, which is saying something. Between the lack of snow, the excess of rain, and the insane amounts of ice, it’s been a rough season. Trees, bowls, glaciers – they’ve remained largely untapped thus far.

In conditions like this, there’s only one thing to do: hit the park.

That’s great if you’re confident doing inversions in the XL park, but what about people like me? You know, those of us who need to work up a heck of a lot of nerve just to tackle those boxes in the Blackcomb Terrain Garden. What are we supposed to do?!

Well, if you’re a lady and you don’t have plans for March 14 and 15, you’re in luck: all you need to do is to hit up the Oakley Progression Sessions on Whistler Blackcomb.

Under the watchful eye of A-list coaches, including TransWorld SNOWboarding’s Women’s Rider of the Year Marie-France Roy and eight-time Winter X Games champ Kaya Turski, female skiers and snowboarders will get the chance to sharpen their park skills over the weekend. Coaches rotate throughout the weekend, giving you a chance to work one-on-one with the aforementioned athletes as well as Christine Savage, Mary Walsh, Dom Vallee and Megan Gunning. Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are welcome to take part in the camp, but that’s not all. There’s also pre-mountain yoga sessions, post-mountain apres (natch), and some mighty good swag along the way. Rumour has it that attendees will be picking up a pair of Oakley’s newly released Prizm goggles, which have revolutionized the world of ski goggles in a big way.

If you’re ready to sharpen your skills, bond with fellow lady mountain-lovers, learn from the best, and boost your goggle collection, all you need to do is sign up—you can do so here. Not in the Whistler area? No sweat—they also have sessions at Mammoth, Loon Mountain, and Tremblant.

See you in the park.
